We have wanted to try this place again since Halloween. It was too crowded when we toured the Halloween decorations in October, but luckily for us, that is how we discovered The Hawke. This is a nice little Italian restaurant.

Food: Italian Price: ***

Rating: 1=Poor 5-Excellence

Ambience: 3.75

Appetizer: 4.13

Entree: 4.13

Service: 4.75

Value: 4.38

We found a parking spot right out front. Really is nice as all of us are retired and can go out to eat whenever we want. We arrived right at 5 which is when it opens, and got a table right away.

John and I split the Bruschetta appetizer. It was a bit cumbersome to eat as the toast was large and soft, but I thought it was very tasty, John not so much . Sue and Bill split the citrus salad and also the bruschetta. They gave the salad a 5 - thought it was delicious. They didn't like the bruschetta as much as I did.

John got the salmon special. He thought it was very good, well prepared and a good portion. I just got spaghetti with marinara. For what it was it was very good. The marinara was nice and light. Bill got the Farfalle Francesca. He thought it was very good - gave it a 4.5. It was a full portion so he had plenty to take home for the next day. Sue got the fried oysters and mashed potatoes. She thought it was very tasty - gave it a 4.

We all thought the service was excellent, The food was good and at a reasonable price. It is a good idea to get there early, as the place fills up pretty quickly. And it is located in a nice part of Lambertville, most likely used to be a house. It was cozy and comfortable.

Will definitely go again - but Amelia (during the week ) is still our favorite Italian restaurant.
