Conquering Cuisine is the reincarnation of Carlow Cookery, but without the cookery. It is all classes all the time. Classes include Hands On, Demonstrations, Wine tasting and pairing, children, date nights..... It is always a great night out with lots of food and drink.
You can go to their website conqueringcuisine.com and schedule a class. Browse through the choices, but keep in mind the classes fill up fast.
Most recently our friends Sue and Bill joined us at a Taste of Italy class. Mike Conti gave an excellent overview of the wine regions of Italy and explained each of the six wines we tasted.
Dave Chiappa, the owner, created some excellent dishes for us.
Our Menu:
Burrata Cheese salad with Arugula and a nice light tomato sauce.
Ravioli with Roasted Butternut Cream Sauce
Short Ribs Braised in San Giovese and Demiglace Sauce
Potato Cauliflower Gratin with Golden Breadcrumbs
Lemon Pound Cake with a lovely sauce and whipped cream
It was a lovely night out. Plenty of food and almost too much wine!!! :) (Is there such a thing? :)
