Piper Tavern is an historic building but not as formal as others you find in Bucks County. It is quite convenient to all of us. Also, they have outside seating. It was a beautiful night, so we looked forward eating outside.

We went early (5ish) so there was plenty of seating. It is a nice large outside area, but not set up very nicely. Plenty of room for more tables. Some of the tables had no chairs.** We sat near a huge, beautiful, and surprisingly healty Ash Tree. The weather was great and it was really nice to be eating outside.
John got the Shrimp Gazpacho and thought it was good. I thought it was a bit spicy, but everyone else liked it and it got a 4. He had the Salmon for his entree. It was nicely prepared and was accompanied by some tasty smashed potatoes.
I got the Steak Diane. Never had it before and loved it. I also enjoyed the smashed potatoes and the string beans and carrots were done just right. Accompanied mine with a nice glass of Cabernet.
Bill had the Snapper Soup for his appetizer. He loved it and gave it a 5. Best he has had in a while (and better than Pineville Tavern which is supposed known for their snapper soup). His entree was the Veal/Shrimp Pasta which he gave a 4. He accompanied his dinner with a Jalapeño Margarita. He said it was good, but not as good as the one he had at The King George in Bristol.
Sue shared the appetizers. Her entree was Baked Flounder Pinwheels with Crabmeat. She loved it and gave it a 5. She also had the Jalapeño Margarita and thought it was ok and gave it a 3.
We all truly enjoyed the Al Fresco dining. It was a beautiful. We all agreed that the drinks were a bit pricey. Our total bill for 4 was over $400. But these days it seems $50 per person is getting to be the norm.
All in all it was a short drive, no waiting and a beautiful night to eat outside. We all will definitely go again.
**I found out later that the reason for the space not totally used is that their capacity is limited by their septic system. So I think they can only have chairs that can seat up to a certain capacity.
