I have been making spinach dip for, probably more than 40 years; surprising, as I am only 29! :) It is my standard party dish and everyone seems to like mine. There really is nothing much special about it, but here it is:
1 pack Knorr’s vegetable soup mix 1 package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and COMPLETELY drained/squeezed 1 can sliced water chestnuts, chopped mayonnaise sour cream Loaf of unsliced bread. I like to use rye or sourdough Assorted crusty rolls
Mix the soup mix, about a cup of mayonnaise and about 2/3 cup sour cream together. Add the chopped water chestnuts. Add the thawed, squeezed (as dry as possible is key) spinach. You don't want it too soupy. MIx together.
Cut out the loaf of bread to make a bowl. Fill it with the dip. Cut up the crust from the cut out. Cut up the rolls in bite size pieces right before you are ready to serve the dip, go to your party.
ENJOY!
